Didem Ergin

Intern, Clinical Therapist
(she/her)

Didem Ergin is currently completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus on Transpersonal Psychology at Naropa University. Originally trained as an engineer, she earned her undergraduate degree from Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) in 2008 and a Master’s in Engineering from the University of Alabama. However, in 2018, she transitioned from the corporate world to pursue her passion for psychology, spirituality, meditation, and mind-body healing.

Her therapeutic approach is rooted in mindfulness-based, compassion-focused, and transpersonal psychology. Through her studies at Naropa University, she has received direct training from esteemed meditation teachers, including Pema Chödrön and Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche. Her work integrates Buddhist psychology, Gestalt therapy, and contemplative practices, offering clients a holistic and integrative path toward self-awareness, emotional healing, and personal transformation.

Following a personal journey through breast cancer in 2021, Didem deepened her commitment to mental health and founded a psychoeducation platform focused on self-compassion, trauma-sensitive mindfulness, and emotional resilience. She also completed long-term training at Stanford University’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE), earning the title of Compassion Ambassador.

Didem is the author of Elbet Açacak İçimdeki Nilüfer (January 2024), a novel centered on self-compassion and resilience, which was widely embraced in Turkey within two months of its release.

As a working professional, a mother, and someone who has navigated significant life transitions, Didem deeply understands the challenges of balancing career, family, and personal well-being. This lived experience informs her compassionate and realistic approach to therapy, helping clients find inner resilience and self-compassion amidst life’s demands. Didem provides mindfulness-based, trauma-informed, and integrative therapy, supporting individuals navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions, chronic illness, and relational challenges. She offers therapy in both English and Turkish and is committed to creating a space of deep listening, presence, and nonjudgmental support.
