Although we do not have a commitment requirement, we have found that people who commit to a minimum of twelve sessions see the most shifts and changes in their lives.  This amount of time gives the opportunity to build trust and some safety with a therapist or provider and an opportunity to be understood and seen in ways that can be supportive.

Modalities we use:

Attachment-based therapy is a process-oriented form of counseling. The client-therapist relationship is based on developing or rebuilding trust and centers on expressing emotions. An attachment-based approach to therapy looks at the connection between an infant’s early attachment experiences with primary caregivers, and the infant’s ability to develop normally and ultimately form healthy emotional and physical relationships as an adult. Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR): EMDR is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories and other adverse life experience to bring these to an adaptive resolution. After successful treatment with EMDR therapy, affective distress is relieved, negative beliefs are reformulated, and physiological arousal is reduced. More info.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) is a therapeutic modality for trauma and attachment issues. SP welcomes the body as an integral source of information which can guide resourcing and the accessing and processing of challenging, traumatic, and developmental experience. SP is a holistic approach that includes somatic, emotional, and cognitive processing and integration. SP helps clients cultivate their strengths, while providing enough challenge to stimulate growth, long lasting change, and well-being. More Info.

Somatic therapy is a form of body-centered therapy that looks at the connection of mind and body and uses both psychotherapy and physical therapies for holistic healing. In addition to talk therapy, somatic therapy practitioners use mind-body exercises and other physical techniques to help release the pent-up tension that negatively affects a patient’s physical and emotional wellbeing.
