KC Cohen

LPCC
(she/her)

KC Cohen graduated with her MA in Couple and Family Therapy at the University of Colorado – Denver. KC is available to work with individuals, couples, and families seeking guidance and support.

KC believes that the aspects of ourselves that we often perceive as painful and in need of “fixing” during therapy actually originated as adaptive responses for survival and connection within our familial, cultural, and societal systems. With an approach grounded in mindfulness, self-compassion, and attachment theory, KC assists
clients in acknowledging, valuing, and making room for these parts of themselves. By recognizing the influence of these parts and the thoughts, beliefs, and emotions they have shaped, we can uncover fresh possibilities and adopt alternative ways of living and relating to others.

KC utilizes a strength-based and collaborative approach with her clients. She recognizes the importance of humor and the power of laughter in building rapport, relieving tension, and fostering
vulnerability. Additionally, she challenges clients when needed, guiding them to step outside their comfort zones, confront limiting beliefs, and embrace change toward their desired goals.

KC grew up in the Midwest, and, after graduating from college, spent nearly a decade living in California before planting roots in Colorado
with her partner. She loves spending her free time with her family and friends, being in nature, doing pottery, playing tennis, reading, and enjoying live music.
