WHAT IS KETAMINE THERAPY?

A safe and effective healing solution to create positive change

Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic that can have hallucinogenic effects. When used in a controlled setting under clinical supervision, it can help reduce symptoms associated with depression, anxiety and PTSD.

Ketamine creates a state of neuroplasticity that, when explored with a therapist, can promote positive shifts in both thinking and behavior.

HOW DOES KETAMINE THERAPY WORK?

Our Ketamine + Integration Therapy Process

Clients who undergo Ketamine + Integration therapy do so under clinical supervision at Whole Connection’s clinic. After determining if ketamine is the right course of treatment, you will meet with Dr. Kate Daly for 1-2 sessions prior to treatment to learn about the process and to set goals as well with an Integration Therapist. The integration component is such an important part of our program that you will have both Dr. Daly and an Integration Trained Therapist holding space throughout your time in the program.

Dr. Daly will administer the ketamine dose through an intramuscular (IM) injection. Each ketamine therapy session takes place in a comfortable setting, and Dr. Daly will be consistently attending to you throughout the experience along with other medical staff and integration therapists.

While the ketamine experience lasts about 45 minutes, the entire session usually lasts 2 to 2.5 hours. Due to the nature of the ketamine therapy, you must arrange for transportation home after the session.

The integration session is required the next day after the dosing session to guide you through and processing your experience. We recommend that patients plan for 6 to 8 doses of ketamine for lasting outcomes.

  • We prioritize the client’s experience and make sure that you always have our licensed physicians present in the space or quickly available as needed.

To create a better holding environment, we also have group sessions, where multiple participants may go through the dosage together. In these spaces, we always have an Integration trained therapist present to hold space and be present with clients.

Lastly we believe Integration to be an important and necessary part of Ketamine Therapy. Our therapists are trained in integration and will meet with you twice a week to support your process and gain the most from the Ketamine experience.

  • In order to make Ketamine more accessible and to provide a community process, Whole Connection offers Ketamine Dosages in groups. These groups tend to be small, 3-5 people, and create a space for mutual experiences, while also having your own individual one.

While being part of a group Ketamine dosing session, their will be a trained Integration therapist present to hold space, as well as our licensed physician. By doing so this provides a holding container for each individual.

Even with this, we still have space for clients to be in their own individual space after the Ketamine process. Although the dosage is in a group experience, the integration is still individualized and provided the very next day.

  • Although you can have the Ketamine dosage without a follow up of integration with a therapist, we believe that by having the integration more of the experience can be understood and lead to growth. The Ketamine dosage experience is an internal experience, but also can feel disconnecting, and much like important moments in our lives, we believe that by having an ability to process the difficulties, new knowledge, and worries, can create for greater shifts in the directions we are hoping for.

We believe in the integration so much, that it is part of our program, not an add-on. We also make sure that the therapist you will integrate with has been trained in Ketamine integration.
