What is the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation?

“The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) assists people with disabilities to succeed at work and live independently. We believe that anyone with a disability who wants to work, can work, regardless of the type or severity of their disability. We work closely with a variety of partners and stakeholders, including our vendors, employers, state and federal agencies, Workforce Centers and Centers for Independent Living.”

If you are:

  • Currently attending high school or a post-secondary program,
  • Aged 15 – 24 OR  are an adult over the age of 25 looking for employment,
  • Blind or have low vision,
  • Deaf or hard of hearing,
  • Experiencing mental or behavioral health challenges (this can include PTSD, depression, schizophrenia, anxiety)
  • Neurodiverse or on the autism spectrum,
  • Have physical mobility barriers,
  • Have a spinal cord or brain injury,
  • Or experiencing homelessness

DVR has a wide range of counselors that provide individualized services in order to meet your specific needs.

Additionally, the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation can assist with applying for Social Security Disability Benefits (SSDI) or assist with benefits planning.

If you are looking to find a job, train for a new career, or get support with your current job, DVR can help! They offer services in person or virtually at no cost to you!

Lastly, DVR services are completely voluntary, which means that you can start or stop services at any time.
