(she/her)

Sakinah Jaaber (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate and holds a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health, Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina where she earned her BA in Psychology at Wingate University. She approaches therapy as a journey of exploration, delving into the intricacies of relationships, thoughts, feelings, and experiences with a person-centered focus.

In her therapeutic practice, Sakinah integrates a diverse range of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to address cognitive patterns and emotional regulation. Additionally, she incorporates Mindfulness Approaches to foster present-moment awareness and acceptance, as well as Somatic Therapy techniques to facilitate mind-body integration and healing.

She believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship as the cornerstone of effective therapy and is deeply committed to community engagement, striving to destigmatize mental health and create safe spaces for healing. When she’s not in the therapy room, you can find Sakinah engaging in activities that nourish her spirit, whether it’s exercising, spending quality time with her beloved bunny, Stella, immersing herself in a good book, or cherishing moments with loved ones.
