If you've lived through something hard, the ways you're coping make sense. Trauma can leave your body and mind on high alert long after the danger has passed, and that's a normal response, not a flaw in you. You're the expert in your own story, and you don't have to face this alone. Come as you are, and we'll begin together.

You might recognize some of this

  • Feeling on edge, tense, or easily startled
  • Trouble sleeping, or nightmares that pull you back
  • Memories or images that show up when you don't want them
  • Feeling numb, distant, or cut off from people you love
  • Avoiding places, people, or reminders that feel unsafe
  • Waves of anxiety, panic, or a racing heart
  • Being hard on yourself or carrying shame you didn't earn
  • Feeling like you're always waiting for something bad to happen

How therapy helps

Therapy gives you a steady, shame-free space to make sense of what happened and to feel more at home in your body again. Together we go at your pace, and nothing moves faster than you're ready for. You stay in the driver's seat the whole way.

For some people, deeper trauma work can help. Our intensive Trauma Recovery Program (TRAC) uses EMDR, an approach that supports your brain in processing painful memories so they hold less power over your daily life.

“You set the pace. You're the expert in your own story.”

Common questions

How much does trauma therapy cost, and do you take Medicaid?

We accept Health First Colorado (Medicaid), Medicare, and most major insurance. If you're paying on your own, sessions are $135, with a limited sliding scale. Our admissions team verifies your insurance and helps match you with the right therapist, so you know what to expect before you begin.

Can I do trauma therapy from home?

Yes. We offer telehealth across all of Colorado, so you can meet with your therapist from wherever feels safe and comfortable for you. If you'd rather be in person, we have offices in Boulder (100 Arapahoe Ave) and Denver (5335 W 48th Ave).

What is EMDR and the TRAC program?

TRAC is our intensive Trauma Recovery Program, built around EMDR. EMDR is a well-researched approach that helps your brain process painful memories so they feel less overwhelming. We move at your pace throughout, and for members with Medicaid, TRAC is covered in full.

Will I have to talk about the details of what happened?

Only if and when you're ready. You're the expert in your own story, and you decide how much to share and when. Some approaches, like EMDR and somatic work, don't require you to retell every detail. This is a shame-free space, and we'll always go gently.
